Do you want to stay successful?
Do you want to remain a positive mindset?
Do you want to keep the right attitude?
If you answered yes to all of these questions then you know the importance of remaining a positive mindset and the right attitude in order to stay successful. Look, I’m going to go ahead and be upfront with you, being a successful entrepreneur requires work- it is not going to be an easy road but it is a road worth taking. Many people have this misconception that being successful in wealth and business can happen over night. And to tell you the truth, that is a lie so if someone told you that they can help you become rich fast and quick, I recommend you to leave fast and quick. While you are on the road to success, you will realize that there will be bumps and unexpected obstacles but don’t worry, that is normal and you are are not the only entrepreneur that is going through this. After reading books and reflecting on my past experiences, I correlated five ways to stay successful:
1) Don’t compare yourself.
Quite often entrepreneurs don’t reach their goals because they are too busy comparing themselves with someone that they think is more successful than them. And sure, the other person may be more successful than you for right now but don’t let that hinder your growth and instead, use it as leverage- observe how they got successful and implement that into your life. Bill Gates stated:
“Don’t compare yourself with anyone in this world- if you do so, you are insulting yourself.”
2) Forget about what other people say.
I’m going to be blunt and say screw what other people say- if their opinion is not going to help you be more successful than don’t listen to them. Like I’ve always said, people are always going to have something to say- be wise and choose what you want to listen to.
3) Keep educating yourself.
People who are successful and STILL successful still learn everyday. Warren Buffet lands number three on the most wealthiest man and he does it by reading every single day. He is currently 86 years old and always trying to learn something new. Charlie Munger, Buffet’s partner, said this about Warren:
“Warren is one of the best learning machines on this earth. the turtles who outrun the hares are learning machines. If you stop learning in this world, the world rushes right by you.”
If you are not a reader, I suggest you listen to audio books. Also, if you have time, attend seminars and if you don’t have time, make time.
4) Surround yourself with successful people.
Your circle of influence is everything; there is saying that you are who you hang out with. If you are on the road to success, you will notice that there are people who are not in the same mindset as you are and I suggest you to:
A- Leave them.
B- Hang out with them less.
C- Do both A and B then join a mastermind group.
5) Get a mentor.
There is this quote that I live by from Tony Robbins;
“If you want to be successful find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you’ll achieve the same results.”
Robbins couldn’t have said it better- if you want to be successful and stay successful, you need a mentor and I can’t stress this enough. A mentor will be able to guide and support you when you need it but most importantly, hold you accountable.
At the end of day, remind yourself WHY you are on the road to success and know that sometimes it can be a lonely road but the end result will pay off. Entrepreneurs are leaders and leaders don’t take the easy route.
